PRÉMIO PAULA REGO
Students of the Lisbon Fine Arts School are shown at
Casa das Histórias Paula Rego
From 28th of July to the 18th of OctoSeptember 2016
Opening the 28th of July at 6pm
The museum's room zero hosts, from July to September, the first
edition of the Paula Rego Prize, an initiative that offers support
to students of the Lisbon Fine Arts School by exhibiting and
rewarding their talent for storytelling through drawing. On 18
September, the anniversary of the opening of the Casa das Histórias
Paula Rego, the Paula Rego Prize will be personally awarded by the
artist to a work from the exhibition - the visible face of the
underlying selective competition. The competition, exhibition and
catalogue are a powerful incentive to young fine arts students and
offer a chance for significant exposure within the contemporary art
world. This first edition is targeted at students on the graduate
course, as well as masters students, and the winning work will
become part of Paula Rego's private collection.
